This explains what Bet Data Labs collects when you use betdatalabs.com, why, who helps us process it, and how to get it deleted. We collect as little as we can to run the service.

1. The short version

  • We keep your email, your membership details and the plays you choose to save to your account.
  • We do not sell your data, and we do not run advertising trackers.
  • You can delete your account yourself, any time, from your account page.

2. What we collect

If you browse without an account: nothing that identifies you. Our host keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time) to run and protect the site.

If you join the waitlist: the email address you give us, and the details you choose to add on the form.

If you are a member:

  • Your email address, your member number, the date you joined and who invited you.
  • The invite codes issued to you and who joined with them.
  • Your plan, your Founding or Partner status, and any account flags such as a Take a Break end date.
  • Anything you add to your profile: a username, your real name (kept private unless you choose to show your first name), your bankroll and unit size.
  • Your Ledger: the plays you log with "I took this", the price and stake you enter, and your notes.
  • A password, if you set one. It is held by our authentication provider in hashed form; we never see it.
  • Whether you have opted out of member email.

When billing launches: payments will be taken by a third-party payment processor. We will receive confirmation of your plan and payment status, not your full card number. We will update this policy before that happens.

3. Cookies and browser storage

We use a small number of cookies, all our own, and no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

  • Account cookie (members only): a signed, httpOnly cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. It holds your member id, number and email, not a password.
  • Preference cookies: your odds format, colour-blind mode and Explain mode, so the site renders the way you set it. They contain only those settings.
  • Browser storage: your light or dark theme, plays you log before signing in, watchlists and similar settings stay in your own browser. Clearing your browser data removes them.

4. How we use it

  • To run your account: sign you in, show your Ledger on any device, and apply your settings.
  • To run the invite-only beta: issue invites, count Founding seats, and keep the invite record.
  • To email you: sign-in links, account notices, and the member email when tonight's plays are up (which you can turn off).
  • To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
  • To meet legal obligations.

5. Who processes it

We use a few service providers that process data on our behalf, under their own security commitments:

  • Supabase: our database and sign-in provider. Holds member records, invites, profiles and Ledger entries.
  • Vercel: hosts the site and its file storage, and keeps the server logs described above.
  • Resend: sends our email. It receives your email address and the message.
  • A payment processor, once billing launches. We will name it here before it is used.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our members or the public, or as part of a sale or reorganization of the business, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your data.

6. What we never do

  • We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
  • We do not send your data to sportsbooks or affiliate networks.
  • We do not publish your Ledger. Only you see it.

7. How long we keep it

We keep member data while your account is open. When you delete your account, your Ledger entries are deleted at once and your email, username, real name and bankroll settings are erased from your member record; what remains is a member number with no person attached, kept so that the record of who joined through which invite stays consistent. Server logs are kept for a short period by our host. Backups held by our providers roll over on their normal schedules.

8. Your choices and deleting your data

  • Delete your account yourself from your account page. Type DELETE to confirm and it is done.
  • Stop member email with the unsubscribe link in any member email.
  • Take a Break pauses member content and member email for a length you choose.
  • Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@betdatalabs.com. Depending on your state you may have further rights under state privacy law; we will honor them.

9. Security

Our database is reached only from our servers, with keys that never go to your browser. Sessions are signed cookies, connections are encrypted, and passwords are hashed by our sign-in provider. No system is perfectly secure; if something goes wrong we will tell affected members as the law requires.

10. Age

Bet Data Labs is for people 21 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 21; if we learn we have, we delete it.

11. Changes

We will update this policy when what we collect or who processes it changes, change the date at the top, and tell members about material changes before they take effect.
